Week 28 recovery week
I am so proud of all of us, we put together an amazing ski swap, the concession, the silent auction, the concession all very well done. So many skis boots and poles sold. I am always amazed how we can start putting the swap together on friday evening and by Saturday evening it is all completed and the school is back to being a school after the craziness of the ski swap.
Once again we have raised an amazing amount for our club and to wax support. I have not seen the final numbers but I know it will be good. There is still the raffle to complete so make sure that you sell your tickets before November 29th, I know that many have all ready sold their tickets so get out there and get it done. If you have not received your tickets please contact Piaper, Tianna or Fionna Fahey and we will bring them to practice.
It is time to get your cross Country Canada Racing license.
This license is very important for cross country skiers, in categories juvenile and up for both Quebec and Ontario athletes, biathletes you do not need this. This license allows you to collect CPL points, this is how athletes are ranked in Canada and it is connected to the Federation International de Ski (FIS) point list which is the international point list. Once you have your license and you have points on the list you can see how you rank with athletes in Canada and internationally. It is interesting and mandatory for your development as an athlete.
You get points based on how you finish in races that are provincially (Quebec Cup or Ontario Cup), Nationally (Easterns, Nationals) or FIS sanctioned (Ripton, Craftsbury).
More importantly if you have no points, you will always start at the back of the pack as you are seeded in races depending on your CPL point ranking. CPL points is how different teams are selected (provincial teams, talent squad, junior national team, national team etc.)
For those that are doing only one Quebec cup race (Easterns) it would be fine to have a day license which is cheaper but it will mean that you do not collect points for next year.
If it is your first time getting a CCC license then you will need to enter you last name into the search function as CCC wants to make sure that you do not already have a license. When it does not find you then it will prompt you to purchase a license.
You will need the following information
Club Official: Maurice Samm (Head Coach)
Coach Name: Maurice Samm
My NCCP# is 1217212
My Coaching Level is Competition Development
The following people have registered for their CCC license
These people still have get there CCC license, you need to have a license whether day license or annual license, annual license is best for the reasons stated above.
