This is week 19 in our yearly training plan. It is a volume week, the focus of this week will be distance, strength and agility. School has now started for everyone, careful that you are not over doing it. This is the perfect time to get sick as you are now going to be in close quarters with many other people. If you are not taking care of your immune system, rest hydration and eating super good food than you are likely going to get sick.
This week we have our training times change to our fall/winter times. There has been a lot of discussion about this. Juniors have the choice of which practice that they would like to attend either afternoon or evening practice. Juveniles will practice only in the evening. Times for the fall will be Tuesday, Thursday form 4:30pm - 6pm for Juniors, 6:30-8pm for Juveniles, Saturday 8-10 for Juniors, 10-12 for juveniles, Sunday 9-12 Juniors and Juveniles. These will be the times unless there are special events such as this Saturday.
This Saturday training will be a running race at camp fortune. This running race is a fundraiser for Zeke Williams, Dominic Moncion-Groulx and Seb Townsend. There is a 3 and 6km run. I think that this is a good fundraiser for good people within our ski community. If you have not been running much or have been experiencing troubles while running sign your self up for the 3km race. If you are ready to challenge yourself then sign up for the 6km run.
Online registration will be open as of September 1st or 2nd. Make sure that you register.
