Training Sept. 5 - 11

Important Notes


This is the first training week of the fall season. Welcome to all new racers!


1) We no longer have a group practice on Wednesday. Please continue to go to the gym on your own and follow your

strength plan accordingly. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.


2) Mandatory Meeting on Tuesday! All athletes who are registered in the fall Nordic race program must attend.

Athletes under 18 must be accompanied by at least one parent.

N.B. 6:30-7pm is just for new athletes and their parents

7:00-8pm is for everyone.


3) As of Thursday's Practice Moe is away in Germany for a few weeks. Katie will be lead coach at the majority of

nordic practices. However, this Saturday and Sunday Amy and Eric will be leading as Katie is at a coaching course.



Tuesday, Sept. 6

Activity: Nordic Race Meeting

Technique:

Location: Visitor Centre

Time: 6:30-8:00pm

6:30-7:00pm: New racers and Parents

7:00-8:00pm: All racers and Parents

Notes: This meeting will cover the athlete expectations, code of conduct,

race schedule and other details of the Nordic race program.



Thursday, September 8

Activity: Ski bounding intervals

3x6mins z3 (equal rest) for Junior and Up

Intro to ski bounding for Juveniles

Technique: Trail running with poles

Location: Visitor Centre

Time: 6:30-8:00pm

Notes: Remember to bring water and wear your heart rate monitors


Saturday, September 10

*Eric and Amy lead

Activity: Distance Run with Poles

Technique: Trail running with Poles

Location: P8

Time:

8:00-10:00am Junior +

10:00-12:00 Juveniles

Notes: Remember to bring water, a snack and wear your heart rate monitor


Sunday, September 11

*Eric and Amy lead

Activity: Distance ski. Z1. Goal = 30km

Technique: Skate Roller ski

Location: P8

Time: 8:00-11:00am

Notes: Remember to bring water, a snack and wear your heart rate monitor
