Training Sept 21 to Sept 27

This is week is a recovery week. 

Katie and I have noticed that many of you are tired but also some are sick. We have pushed hard this block. This is the week to catch up on rest and recovery. If you are tired or sick please take many days off. If you need to take the week off and come out to the time trial on Sunday. 

This weeks training will be light easy and fun so they will be good work outs to come to if you are a little tired because you will not feel overly tired after the work out. 

I will need to know if you are attending the Jericho Camp, there is a Slight change to the dates we will leave Friday morning Oct 16th and return on Sunday evening.

 I need to confirm numbers. I have attached a google doc to sign up. Remember this is a high priority training camp so please make it happen if you can. Please sign up by Sunday. 

I also need to make arrangements for La Foret Montmorency on Nov 12 to 14th so please sign up on the same sheet.

I have receive a lot of feedback that the later practice time (6:30 - 8:30) is stressful so we will returning to the 6:30 - 8:30 pm. We will use the later practice time only during a volume week to help athletes get their volume done of that week. Older junior men and women and open athletes may want to arrive early as most weeks you will have more than 1.5 hours to accomplish. 

Tuesday's I will be doing a technique sessions for those that would like them from 5:30 until 6:30 please email me if you are interested in extra technique work. If I do not receive any emails I will not be there. 

Saturday we will be running the Pizza Run for the new midgets and peewees, you will receive instructions on Saturday morning it is fun and simple. It is a good recovery week activity and it is a good time for us to give back to the club. Being in the nordic race program you receive the most resources from the club in coaching and volunteer hours so it is important that we give back and say thank you. Also the midgets and peewees look up to you as they think that you are amazing athletes and skiers. 

Tuesday Sept 22nd

Activity: agility and sprint starts skate

Location: P8 remember your head lamp, it is not wise to get hurt because you do not have a head lamp. 

Time: 6:30-8:00pm

Thursday September 24th 

Activity: Recovery and Mobilization and goal setting, Please bring your goal sheets to practice, we will be doing a foam rolling and stretching session and goal setting for the up coming time trial on Sunday. 

Location: Chalet Des Erable

Time: 6:30-8:00

Saturday  September 26th 

Activity: Pizza Run this is a practice where you will be mixed with a group of Peewees and Midgets to accomplish  a simple yet fun running course. You will be providing leadership to the young ones as the coaches and parents will be in a organizational meeting. There will also be pizza for everyone at the end of the run. A good activity for a recovery week.

Location: Camp Fortune Park in the lower parking below Marshall ski hill closest to the x-c ski trails, do not park at Chalet des Erable this parking is for the aerial park. 

Time: 10-12 everyone

Sunday September 27th 

Activity: Skate time trial

Location: p8 

Time:8am-10:30am everyone, this is an early morning practice because we need everyone to be off the park way by 10:30am.
