Training May 12 to 19th

This is week 2 in our yearly training plan. Yahoo a new season begins. 

Registeration is open follow this link http://www.en.chelseanordiq.ca/home/ski-program to our website, where you will find the links to registration. Please read all instructions before registering, mistakes in registration take a lot of time to fix. 

On Tuesday May 13th we are going to have a team meeting. Everyone planning on training this summer with Chelsea Nordic is required to attend with one parent. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss:
1. The spring/summer season training and training camps. 
2. Expectations: What do I as a coach expect from athletes and parents and what do you expect from the program
3. Goals: We will share a document with you looking at goal setting, you will have some time to discuss this with in your family and we will be doing a goals session in the coming weeks. 
4. Nationals 2014: Planning needs to start happening soon for 2015 nationals in Thunder Bay, flights need to be booked, accommodation, book and support teams created. Can you please have a conversation with parents and athletes before this meeting to know if you are planning on attending nationals 2015. As usual my recommendation is that first year juveniles should focus on the Quebec Cup and look to go to Nationals in 2016. 

May 24th Is my birthday and I am welcoming everyone up to the farm for a training and potluck lunch. This will be the week end training there will no training on sunday May 25th. 

Remember that we train rain or shine, bugs heat and the cold. I will almost never cancel practice because of bad weather. You need to come prepare for practice, which means dressing properly, having a full water bottle and water bottle holder, some thing to eat (i.e., nuts, dried fruit, portion bar, granola bar) We will discuss this in more detail at the meeting on May 13th.


 Week 2


Tuesday May 13th Senior Team  

Activity: 10 x 200m tempo intervals practice will end early so that we can get to the team meeting. 

Location: visitors centre

Time: 4:45-6:00pm 

Tuesday May 13th Junior Team 

Activity: Team meeting 

Location: NCC Visitors Center, Chelsea

Time: 6:30pm - 8pm 

Wednesday May 14th Senior Team  

Activity: Strength Training you need to be 16 years old or have head coach permission to attend this practice. 

Location: Chelsea Gym

Time: 4:45-6:15pm

Thursday May 15th Senior Team 

Activity: Zone 1 5km Run, stretching, Ultimate, we will look at goal setting for the summer. 

Location: Relais Plein Air

Time: 4:45-6:15pm

Thursday May 15th Junior Team

Activity: Strength Training 

Location: Chalet Des Erable

Time: 6:30-8pm

 Sunday May 18th All

Activity: 60 min roller ski followed by a photo scavenger hunt, you will need a cell phone or something that takes pictures, if you do not have one do not worry as there will be enough. 

Moe will not be at this training, Katie will be running practice, For those that are comfortable roller skiing you will be off to do a 60min roller ski, there will be no instruction as you need to get used to roller skiing again, if you are new to roller skiing no worries as Katie will lead you through a orientation session.
