This is week 39 in our yearly training plan. It is a race week for biathlon and a training week for Ontario Biathlon. This is a busy week and it stays busy from now until April so hold on to your hats. This week end Ontario Biathletes are in Jericho Vermont Good Luck biathlon. Good work to everyone this week end in all of your races. There was some amazing improvement over last year. I am very impressed. This week is very cold so we are going to modify training, we will do a short ski and do strength and stretching at Chalet des Earble Nordic our next event is Eastern's coming up on Jan 31st, Feb 1st and 2nd. Registration closes Jan 27th here is the registration link https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=5778&lan=1 Here is the race notice http://cecski.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/CEC2014-event-notice-10Dec13-1.pdf . Not that there is 3km Prologue race on Friday afternoon for midgets to Junior B and a sprint race for Junior A and senior. Unless you have a conflict with school I recommend that you do the race. More details to come. For the Gatineau Loppet I suggest that you do one distance race for your category. You can do two races if you wish just make sure that the other race is a short race as we are racing in Orford the week end after. If you want to do only one race than do a distance race. Here is the schedule of races:
So for: Junior girls I suggest one of the 15km classic or the 10km skate and one of the shorter races if you are wanting to do two races. You can also take on one of the 27km races if you wish but only do one race if this is your choice. Junior B and A boys: one of the 27km races, since this is your first 27 km race I suggest only one race this week end so you have enough time to recover for Orford. Juveniles the 5km classic and 10km skate or the 15km classic, do the 5 and 10 if you are wanting to do both races.
