Training Feb 24 to March 2nd

This is week 43 in our yearly training plan. 

I am in awe of Chelsea Nordic at the moment we have athletes that are growing at the speed of light, finding their inner strength and toughness with Personal best results on the week end. We had medals in Orford with Nordic, Medals in La Patrie, Medals at the Nakkertok cookie race, Alex Dupuis (Dups) qualified this week end and has left for World Youth Championships in Maine and Caroline is being interviewed on national radio and leaving for the Socchi Para-Olympics this week. This is more awesomes than one man can handle. This club is amazing. 

This week is our last training block before we taper for nationals in two weeks, Wow only two weeks until we leave. I will be at Midget Norams this week end and Katie will be covering practice. It is most important that you stay healthy happy and positive at this time of year because you need your body to be awesome for each race.  You do not want to be sick or hurt now as there is little time to recover.

Tuesday February 25th Juniors and Youth

Activity: Easy Distance Ski with 8 x 15 secs 1 min rest, Caroline Bisson will also talk in the Evening from 6:30-8pm. Bring supper so that you have something to eat before the talk.

Time: 4:45- 6:15pm 

Tuesday February 25th Juveniles and Senior Boys and Girls

Activity: Caroline Bisson Talk

Location: Chalet des Erable

Time: 6:30 - 8pm

Thursday February 27th Juniors and Youth 

Activity: Classic 4 x 2min Zone 4 with 3 mins rest

Location: Chalet Des Erable

Time: 4:45-6:15pm 

Thursday February 27th Juveniles

Activity: Classic 4 x 2min Zone 4 with 3 mins rest

Location: Chalet Des Erable

Time: 6:30pm - 8pm 

Saturday March 1st Juniors and Youth 

Activity: Skate 3 x 5min zone 4 with 7mins rest, easy distance ski afterwards, this is our last hard work out before Nationals

Location: P16

Time: 10-12am

Saturday March 1st Juveniles and Senior Boys and Girls 

Activity: Skate 4 x 3min zone 4 with 5mins rest easy distance ski afterwards

Location: P16

Time: 10-12pm

 Sunday March 2nd All 

Activity: Classic Continuous Zone 1 Distance in other words very little stopping

Location: p12 towards the fire tower it is 24 kms round trip to the fire tower Junior Boys should make it this far, it is 19km round trip to Mckinstry Juveniles and junior Girls should make it this far, for those going to nationals we start our taper today. For those going to nationals if you feel at all fatigued than today is a day off.
