Welcome to the biathlon training page!

All training plans will be available on this page with a google doc link. Because we do so many different drills and a ton pf precision shooting in May I have not included every drill in the plan. Please read through and have an idea of what we will be doing at practice.

Our first team meeting will be May 9th from 6:30 - 8pm in conjunction with Nordic Race (location TBD) The goal of this meeting will be to explain the season and get organized for the year. Please ensure that at least one parent is present at this meeting.

Practice Times
Wednesday - 6-8pm. (Biathletes in Nordic race please follow your strength plan on your own time.)
Saturday - 9 - 11am.
Sunday - 1-3pm.

Equipment you will need:
Rifle & all personal accessories (rifle rentals available)
Quality running shoes
Water Bottle and holder
Watch with heart rate monitor
Skate rollerskis (training with nordic race)
Skate Roller ski poles with roller ski tips, snow baskets are not good for pavement (training with nordic race)
Skate boots (training with nordic race)
Bike Helmet (no helmet no roller ski)
Thin ski glovers for roller skiing

Nordic Race program
All biathletes who wish to race competitively are strongly encouraged to participate in the nordic race program. Chelsea Nordiq is a dual club and the nordic race practices are our only time where we can focus on ski training and specific technique. It is very important as a biathlete to be strong in skiing.

Please register ASAP through the zone4 link. Athletes in nordic race please remember to register for that as well. Anyone that is racing biathlon this year should be registered in both programs (excluding masters program).

Denholm Training camp (aka Tank camp)
We are planning a precision specific training camp at the Denholm Range (1 Hour north of chelsea) for June 9-11. We will depart after school Friday afternoon and arrive with time settle in, have dinner and accomplish an evening shooting session! We will stay until Sunday afternoon. More info to come.
