Sat, Jan 12 at 10:15 am - P16

Meet at P16 at 10:15 am.  Dress warmly and bring a snack.  This will be an in and out ski.  The idea would be to ski to Lac Phillip and back.  From P16 to Lac Phillip and back is 20 km.  Ski to Herridge Lodge and back is 10 km.  It is your choice how far you would like to go.

For Corinne:  Directions to P16 - from Ottawa go north on Highway 5.   Take exit 21 (chemin de la Riviere).   Turn right at the stop sign, then left at the lights onto highway 105 (La Vallee restaurant will be in front of you).  Just a few 100 metres down the road you will turn left on Pine Road (there is a brown sign with a bridge at that intersection).  Go to the end of Pine Road (will go under two overpasses).  At the end of Pine Road is P16.

Wed, Jan 9 - 7-8:30 pm - P6

Happy New Year!  We will start at P16 and ski past Herridge Lodge to get at least a 12 km ski in.  Wear head lamps and dress warmly.  It will be cold.

Saturday, 29 December start at P9 at 10:15

Hello All keen souls!

Since the connector between P9 and P10 is likely not available, We  will ski from P9 towards P8 (flattest section of the parkway) and if desired and considered safe continue towards P5.

The North Loop (P9-P8) should be the safest parkway section today for both classic and skate skiers.

Hope to see some of you out there. Dress for wind!

Sat Dec 22 10:15 am at Visitor's Centre

All trails and parking lots are closed now because of the icy conditions.  So here is Plan B:

We start at the Visitors Centre at 10:15 am.  Wear your running shoes and crampons.  If you don’t have any let me know and between all of us we will make sure that we have enough.  Wear Santa hats, bring bells etc.  Frank and I are supplying sheet music.  We will run/fast walk in behind Hendriks Farm area (Julie knows the route), and then stop at various homes/businesses along the way to sing Xmas carols.  You don’t need to be able to sing!!  This is just for fun.  The more the merrier!  We have picked easy songs.

If for some fantastic chance we get snow tonight instead of rain, then we start at P9 with skis on and same deal as above.  Except we sing at the different parking lots and cabins.

I will send out an email tomorrow morning by 8:30 am if there is any change to Plan B.

Meet at P5 at 7 pm.  Then the pub afterwards for some Xmas cheer.  Your choice of pub (Chelsea's or the Manchester!).  As Frank mentioned "we can lubricate our vocal chords for Xmas caroling" on Saturday.
